The Week of Service is part of National Grid’s “Grid for Good” program, a comprehensive corporate responsibility and impact initiative. This program underscores National Grid’s commitment to community engagement through volunteerism and charitable contributions, particularly in areas such as workforce development, STEM education, economic opportunity, social justice, and environmental stewardship.

“Working together to create lasting impacts for the people and communities National Grid serves is so important as we strive for a smarter, stronger, cleaner, more equitable energy future,” said Alisha Collins, Director, Community Impact & Engagement, National Grid New England. “Thank you to each local organization National Grid is partnering with during our second annual Week of Service for their commitment to sustainability and well-being across Massachusetts. Through Grid for Good, we look forward to donating over 1,500 volunteer hours from National Grid employees throughout the week and continuing to expand our community engagement and corporate responsibility initiative.”

In addition to volunteer service, National Grid has plans to further its commitment to the community through financial support. Through Grid for Good, National Grid will contribute more than $2 million in funding to organizations that align with its three responsibility and impact pillars:

  1. Workforce Development and STEM education
  2. Economic opportunity and social justice
  3. Environmental stewardship and sustainability - Focusing on historically underrepresented and overburdened communities.

In addition to Grid for Good in Massachusetts, National Grid has a company-wide commitment to 500,000 employee volunteer hours by 2030, outlined in its renewed Responsible Business Charter.
